World Juniors Begin

The 2013 World Junior tournament begin early Wednesday morning with two Leafs prospects playing their first game.

Morgan Rielly is manning the point for Team Canada and in a big 9-3 win over Germany, he recorded one assist along with a plus one mark and three shots. If you missed the game, a replay will be on TSN at Noon ET and 7:30pm ET.  Canada will have a day off on Thursday before being back in action Friday against Slovakia (4:30am ET, TSN).

The second Leafs prospect playing Wednesday was Swedish defenceman Tom Nilsson. He was held pointless but was a plus one in Sweden’s 4-1 win over the Czech Republic. Like Canada, Sweden has the day off Thursday before facing Switzerland Friday.

The tournament continues Thursday when Leafs prospects Tyler Biggs and Garret Sparks and the USA face Germany (9am, TSN).
