Throwback Thursday: Sawchuk

Denis Brodeur Collection

Terry Sawchuk played for the Leafs for three seasons out of the 21 he played in the NHL and lead the boys in blue to the Stanley Cup in 1967. In this photo Sawchuk kicks a puck away at the Montreal Forum in a game against the Canadiens in 1966. Wearing one of the best masks in Leafs history in this photo, the most famous picture of him depicts the more than 400 stitches he acquired in his long playing career.

Read the story behind the photo I’m talking about here.
