Throwback Thursday: Darryl Sittler

On December 31, 2013 many of your favourite Leafs of the past will lace ‘em up for a showdown in Motown. The Alumni Showdown between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings set to take place at Comerica Park will showcase some serious talent between the two rosters. So much talent that there will be two games taking place. Check out the roster’s HERE.

In anticipation of this big event, Real Sports Apparel will be hosting an All Access event with Darryl Sittler on Saturday, December 21st from 4:30pm-5:30pm, ahead of the first match-up between the Leafs and Wings of the season at Air Canada Centre.

2014 NHL Winter Classic Press Announcement

Darryl spent 12 seasons with the Leafs serving as captain for 7 of those but ultimately finished his playing career in Detroit in 1985.

He still holds the record for most points in a game after recording six goals and four assists on February 7, 1976 against the Boston Bruins.

Sittler was also a member of the 1976 Canada Cup winning team and scored the game winning goal in a dramatic overtime period at the Montreal Forum on September 15, 1976. Here he is receiving an award from Maurice Richard.

If you have any questions for the All Access event with Darryl send them over to me on twitter @BrookePashley or comment below.

There will be an autograph session following the Q & A but you’ll need a wristband for that. You can get one at Real Sports Apparel at 10am on December 21st.
