Throwback Thursday: Brothers

While there has been family ties in all areas of the National Hockey League for years the most significant has been the presence of sibling players. With 47 pairs lacing them up for the same team and many others bearing rival sweaters the brotherly connections go back to the days of Henri and Maurice Richard, Frank and Peter Mahovlich, and all the way up to the current siblings like the Staal, Schenn, and Sedin brothers.

As we look forward to tonight’s matchup with the Boston Bruins we also take a look back to the 80’s at Boston Garden and siblings that played for rival teams. Geoff Courtnall sports the number 32 for the Bruins and his brother Russ representing the blue and white in number 9.
