The CHL playoffs were back in full swing over the weekend with prospect Brad Ross having the best start as the Portland Winterhawks are up 2-0 in the Western Conference Final on the Tri-City Americans following back-to-back 5-4 OT wins.
Ross has registered a goal and two assists in the two games with 10 penalty minutes. The two teams are off until Wednesday when they return to Portland for games three with game four set for the following night.
In the OHL, Greg McKegg missed the first two games of the Western Conference Final with an upper-body injury. His status for the remainderĀ of the series remains day-to-day.
Even without the forward in the lineup, the London Knights took a 2-0 lead over Andrew Crescenzi and the Kitchener Rangers. The series picks up again Tuesday in London.
Crescenzi has one assist in the two games with a minus two rating. The Rangers came back from a 3-2 series deficit in the Western Conference semi-final against Plymouth and they will need to do that again to keep their season going.
