Reimer To Start For Canada Friday

The 2014 World Hockey Championship will begin on Friday in Minsk, Belarus as Canada faces France (9:45am TSN) and the USA plays the hostsĀ (1:45pm TSN).

You will be able to watch five Leafs in the tournament, three on Canada (James Reimer, Nazem Kadri and Morgan Rielly), Jake Gardiner with the USA and Nik Kulemin will be representing Russia.

It was announced on Thursday by Dave Tippett, Canada’s head coach for the tournament that James Reimer will start the first game against France. Reimer played in the 2011 tournament and posted a 4-0-0 record in the group stage.

The line rushes during Thursday’s practice indicated that Nazem Kadri will centre the second line with Cody Hodgson and Troy Brouwer while Morgan Rielly was paired with Erik Gudbranson.
