Quiet Day At World Juniors

Saturday saw just one Leafs prospect playing at the 2013 World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia as defenceman Tom Nilsson and Sweden defeated Latvia 5-1 to move to 2-1-0-0 giving them eight points and top spot in Group A.

The Swedes led 2-1 after two periods despite a huge shot advantage (32-11) after 40 minutes of action. Nilsson continues to look for his first point of the tournament but the stay at home blueliner had one shot and a +1 rating.

Sunday will be a huge day at the tournament as Morgan Rielly and Canada face Tyler Biggs and the USA in a huge matchup in Group B (4:30am TSN). Canada currently leads the group and a win would guarantee a top two spot in the group.
