Although the final result wasn’t what the players wanted, Matt Finn and Antoine Bibeau’s solid play at the 2014 Memorial Cup was recognized by the NHL’s Central Scouting.
Bibeau was named the Outstanding Goalie of the 2014 Memorial Cup. The 20-year-old made 178 saves in four games and finished the tournament with a 2.76 GAA and .932 save percentage. He was also named to the tournament All-Star team.
While Finn and the Storm were upset in the final on Sunday by Edmonton, the Etobicoke native was voted to the tournament All-Star team. ...

Leading the team in playoff scoring is none other than fan-favourite “Fear-Da-Beard” Jerry D’Amigo.
With 12 points in 7 games made up of 4 goals including an OT winner and 8 assists Jerry was a beardless, fresh-faced NHL prospect back in 2009 when he was selected 158th overall by the Leafs in the draft.

Canada concluded the preliminary round of the 2014 World Hockey Championship with a 3-2 win over Norway on Tuesday. The win secured first place in Group A and Canada’s quarter-final opponent will be known later today. All quarter-final games will be on Thursday with Canada’s game on TSN.
