Leafs Ready For Camp To Start

The Maple Leafs are in town and with training camp set to begin on Wednesday, Leafs TV spoke with a few players after they took to the ice Monday at the MasterCard Centre.

Leafs Rookies Drop Tourney Finale

The Maple Leafs ended the 2013 rookie tournament in London, Ontario with a 6-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs ended the tournament with a 2-1-0 record.

Toronto jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead after goals from Stuart Percy and Matt Rupert. The Senators tied the game in the second and blew the game wide open with four third period goals. The contest also featured three fights which the Leafs were decisive winners.

The Leafs didn’t dress Morgan Rielly, Matt Finn, Same Carrick and Carter Verhaeghe.

Rookie Tourney Ends Tonight

The Maple Leafs play their third and final game of the 2013 rookie tournament tonight in London against Ottawa (7pm Rogers TV). The two teams enter the game with 2-0-0 records.

It is expected that 2013 sixth round draft pick Antoine Bibeau will get the start in net tonight for the Leafs.  The status of Matt Finn will be determined after the morning skate as the blueliner left Saturday’s game with a shoulder stinger.

Leafs Second Straight Shootout Win

The Maple Leafs remained perfect at the 2013 rookie tournament thanks to another 4-3 shootout win this time over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Brad Ross scored the shootout winner as the Leafs will now face the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at 7pm to close out the three-game tournament. Both teams enter the game with perfect 2-0-0 records.

Ross was the fourth shooter and scored on a pretty backhander. The Leafs signed free agent goalie Christopher Gibson this past summer and the Finnish netminder stopped three of the four shooters and was very ...

Clarkson & Phaneuf At NHL Media Tour

Maple Leafs David Clarkson and Dion Phaneuf were at the NHL media tour in New Jersey and New York over the past two days.

Our Brooke Pashley was there and spoke with both players as they did a photo and video shoot on Thursday. Friday, they opened the New York Stock Exchange and visited The top of the Rock.

Rookies Face Pens Tonight

After Thursday’s opening win at the three-game rookie tournament, the Leafs will the play the second of three games tonight against Pittsburgh (7pm Rogers TV). The tournament wraps up Sunday against Ottawa.

It is expected that Christopher Gibson will get the start tonight with Antoine Bibeau getting the call on Sunday.

Biggs Notches Shootout Winner

Maple Leafs rookies opened the three-game rookie tournament with a 3-2 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. Tyler Biggs was the fifth shooter and his goal on Mac Carruth was the winner when Garret Sparks stopped Byron Froese.

Josh Leivo scored a power play goal in the first period and Brad Ross scored on a great shot to  put the Leafs leading 2-0 after two periods.  The Blackhawks replied with two third period goals forcing the game to overtime which didn’t produce a winner.

Leafs Rookies Face Blackhawks Tonight In London

Hockey is back…in the form of the Leafs rookie tournament as the Leafs play the first of three games tonight against Chicago (7pm Rogers TV).  After a day off on Friday, the Leafs take on  Pittsburgh and Ottawa over the weekend with both games starting at 7pm.

The Leafs roster includes Morgan Rielly, Frederik Gauthier, David Broll, Tyler Biggs, Matt Finn and more. Here is the full rookie tournament roster.

Rookies Set To Start On Thursday

The Leafs 25 player roster that will take part in the three-game rookie tournament starting Thursday in London practiced as a group for the first time Wednesday at the MasterCard Centre.

All three Leafs games can be seen on Rogers TV stations in Ontario at 7pm. We will have pre and post game reaction, in game highlights along with the Game In Six Minutes. Also, follow the Maple Leafs and the Toronto Marlies on Twitter for pictures, news and the latest video from London.

The Maple Leafs enjoyed their annual charity golf outing , the Leafs and Legends event at Rattlesnake Point in Milton, Tuesday and since this was the first event in months the media questioning was devoted to tried and true talking points.
