Throwback Thursday: Watson and Gardner

Watson Gardner Broda Softball

Nowadays the off-season is an important time for players to rejuvenate and relax after a taxing season of hockey and travel. As mentioned in last week’s Throwback Thursday, community has always been a large part of the Leafs organization. Today’s photo dates back to an off-season charity baseball game in 1951 and was snapped at […]

Lupul Skates Ahead Of Practice

The Maple Leafs returned to practice Monday as they prepared for a busy week as they host San Jose and Dallas before finishing the weekend with back-to-back games Saturday in Ottawa and home to Boston on Sunday.

After missing Saturday’s game in Montreal, Cody Franon was held off the ice as a precaution with […]

The Maple Leafs practiced in Buffalo Thursday afternoon as they looked to put Wednesday’s 6-5 shootout loss behind them and focus on games against division rivals Buffalo and Montreal this weekend.

Randy Carlyle was asked what happened in the third period against Pittsburgh where the Leafs were unable to register a shot on goal.

“We stopped skating, we didn’t execute, we did not move. We lined four across and we’re not a four across hockey team,” Carlyle said.

There was one line shuffle at practice as Trevor Smith moved up to the third line with […]

Throwback Thursday: Leafs In The Community

The Toronto Maple Leafs organization has long valued community and charity efforts. And while players can change the outcome of a game on the ice, off the ice they can change lives.

I’ve seen it happen.

Just a few weeks have passed since the Leafs annual visit to Sick Kids Hospital and my heart is still warmed by the smiles, high fives, and all around happiness that the players brought to those fighting the toughest of battles.

I’ve had the privilege to be a part of many events including […]
