The CHL playoffs are nearing a close in all three leagues with Leafs prospect Greg McKegg and the London Knights in the OHL a win away from a berth in the 2012 Memorial Cup in Shawinigan, Quebec.
The Knights defeated Niagara 4-1 Wednesday despite being outshot 37-21. Check out the highlights.
McKegg was held off the scoresheet for the second consecutive game. He has just two points in the series so far and 11 total in 14 playoff games. The Knights can wrap up the series at home Friday (7:00 pm Sportsnet).
In the WHL, Brad Ross and the Portland Winterhawks are tied 2-2 with the Edmonton Oil Kings with Game 5 tonight in Edmonton. After having an excellent round 2, Ross has recorded just one point in the series with 15 penalty minutes.
Thursday was a big day at the World Hockey Championships for Mikhail Grabovski. The Belarussian forward recorded three assists in the 5-3 loss to the USA. Grabovski now has four points in four games while averaging over 20 minutes a game.
Joey Crabb went up against his teammate and he finished with one assist. Crabb has played well in his first ever time representing his country. He has two points, is a +1 while playing just over 11 minutes a game. The USA is 2-1-1 in four games.
Following a disappointing season with the Maple Leafs, Nikolai Kulemin has played very well for Russia thus far in the tournament. Kulemin has recorded two points in four games. Russia is tied with Sweden for top spot in Group S with a 4-0-0 record. The two teams go head-to-head Friday.
