World Junior FAQ’s

Hockey Canada announced that the Maple Leafs and Montreal will be co-hosts for the 2015 & 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships.

We know you have questions about how to get tickets so below are some FAQ’s that will help answer them:

Q: How do I get tickets to the 2015 and 2017 IIHF World Junior Championships?
A: Your first chance to get tickets for the 2015 and 2017 tournaments will be by registering for the ticket draw. This will be the only way to ensure you have a chance at accessing full-event packages.  Further details around the ticket draw, pricing and package information will be shared with all registrants as the details become finalized. Information for the secondary ticket market and any potential single-game tickets will be available through www.hockeycanada.ca/2015juniors, and will be sent directly to all fans that register for the ticket draw as soon as information is available.

Q. When do I have to register by?

A.  Registration will remain open until 4pm Mountain time on Monday July 8th, 2013.

Q: What are the dates of the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship?

A: The tournament will run from Dec. 26, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015.

Q: How will the games be split up in 2015 and 2017?

A: In 2015, Montreal will host the preliminary round group including Canada’s National Junior Team, as well as two quarter-finals, for a total of 12 games. Toronto will host the other preliminary round group, plus two quarter-finals, the relegation series, fifth-place game, both semifinals and both medal games, for a total of 19 games. Everything will be reversed in 2017 – Canada’s preliminary round group will play in Toronto, while Montreal will host the medal round.

Q: If I register for the ticket draw, does it guarantee me a seat?

A: Not all fans that register will receive the opportunity to purchase a seat.  Due to the great fan interest in the IIHF World Junior Championship when the event is hosted in Canada, we are not able to guarantee seats for everyone. However, as a registrant we will ensure you receive all information around tickets so as other opportunities arise, you will be the first to know.

Q: How will people be selected to purchase tickets?

A: All registrants will be notified of the full process and timing once it is finalized. Customers will be selected at random from those that have registered. Successful entrants will receive specific instructions at that time on purchase process and details.

Q: When will I be notified if I am successful?

A: All successful entries will be notified by February 2014.
