The Maple Leafs returned to the ice on Wednesday following a full off-day as they continued preparations for the season opener on October 1st against the Montreal Canadiens.
For the first time during training camp, forward Joffrey Lupul took part in practice and was on a line with Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel. He spoke with the media following practice and said that he could play in a preseason game sometime this weekend.
Another player who hadn’t been on the ice until Wednesday was Colton Orr. The Leafs tough guy skated prior to the Leafs full practice and he also hopes to be able to play in one of the two games against Buffalo this weekend. Frazer McLaren and Troy Bodie didn’t take part in practice but they did skate before with Leafs strength and conditioning coach Anthony Belza.
