Leafs Second Straight Shootout Win

The Maple Leafs remained perfect at the 2013 rookie tournament thanks to another 4-3 shootout win this time over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Brad Ross scored the shootout winner as the Leafs will now face the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at 7pm to close out the three-game tournament. Both teams enter the game with perfect 2-0-0 records.

Ross was the fourth shooter and scored on a pretty backhander. The Leafs signed free agent goalie Christopher Gibson this past summer and the Finnish netminder stopped three of the four shooters and was very solid all game long.  It is expected that 2013 draft pick Antoine Bibeau will get the start on Sunday.

Defenceman Matt Finn left the game in the first period with a shoulder stinger and his status for Sunday’s game is in doubt.

It was a different looking lineup for the Leafs on Saturday as they were without Morgan Rielly, Andrew MacWilliam, Josh Leivo, Greg McKegg and Garret Sparks.
