The Maple Leafs returned to practice Monday at MasterCard Centre after having the day off on Sunday. Following the length practice, the team headed to Winnipeg for Tuesday’s game against the Jets which is the first of two meetings between the teams this week.
Joffrey Lupul skated during practice for the first 20 minutes but is still not cleared for contact according to head coach Randy Carlyle. Lupul will continue to ramp up his workouts this week.
After practice, Lupul spoke with the media and said he is progressing but he doesn’t want to rush back unless he is 100 per cent. The original timeframe was six-to-eight weeks and this is week seven which means Lupul could return at somepoint next week.
