It was a good night for Leafs prospect Greg McKegg and the London Knights as they took a 2-1 series lead over the Niagara Ice Dogs. McKegg was held scoreless but he was on the ice for the Knights opening goal. Check out the higlights of the game
The Leafs third round choice in 2010, McKegg has posted two points with a +2 rating in the series so far. For the playoffs, the St. Thomas, Ontario native has 11 points in 13 games.
Tuesday is a quiet day at the World Championships for the five Maple Leafs representing their countries. Canada and the USA have the day off leaving just Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin as the only two players to play.
Grabovski played in the early game Tuesday and Belarus cameback from a 2-0 deficit to Kazakhstan with the Leafs forward playing a big part tying the game in the third period. Belarus won 3-2 and moves to 1-2-0 in the tournament. Grabovski has recorded one goal in three games with a -1 rating while averaging 20:24 of ice-time.
Kulemin and Russia play Germany later Tuesday in the final game of the day.
