Quiet Day In Jersey

Hello from the Garden State aka New Jersey.

I arrived Wednesday along with Leafs TV’s Paul Hendrick, Bob McGill, producer Nicole Burns and cameraman Sabre Walker. We will bring you everything you need to know over the next four days from the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Many of the Leafs scouts and front office personnel are making their way to New Jersey today with team meetings set to begin on Thursday.  Our behind the draft crew arrived Tuesday afternoon along with Leafs Director of Amateur Scouting Dave Morrison.

Hockey Canada announced that the Maple Leafs and Montreal will be co-hosts for the 2015 & 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships.

We know you have questions about how to get tickets so below are some FAQ’s that will help answer them:

Q: How do I get tickets to the 2015 and 2017 IIHF World Junior Championships?
A: Your first chance to get tickets for the 2015 and 2017 tournaments will be by registering for the ticket draw. This will be the only way to ensure you have a chance at accessing full-event packages.  ...

Meet CuJo This Saturday

Former Maple Leafs goalie Curtis Joseph will be at the Hero Burgers location in Milton this Saturday June 22nd.

The Maple Leafs Mobile Fan Zone, Carlton the Bear and the Leafs Blue Crew will be there starting at 11am with Joseph being there from Noon-1pm.

The Hero Burgers where you can meet CuJo this Saturday is at 850 Main Street East with the main intersection being Main and Thompson.

Leafs Sign MacIntyre To One-Year Deal

The Maple Leafs announced on Thursday that the team has signed goaltender Drew MacIntyre to a one year two-way contract.

MacIntyre, 29, has played in 21 games for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League this season posting a record of 13-5-3. The 6-1, 184-pound goaltender has compiled a 1.83 goals against average and a 0.931 save percentage. MacIntyre has previous NHL experience with the Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres.

Gardiner Calls Fool Me Once In North America Cup

Maple Leafs defenceman Jake Gardiner was in Toronto on Tuesday as he took to the ice with skating consultant Barb Underhill before being the drawmaster for the 30th annual North America Cup at Mohawk Raceway.

Gardiner will be in town for a few days working with Underhill before returning to Minnesota where he will spend his offseason.

Prior to the draw at Mohawk, the young Leafs blueliner was asked who he thought was the Leafs MVP this past season. He had two names that came to mind. “I would have to say (James) ...

The Leafs And The Liberation Of France

69 years ago today Canadian, British and American troops stormed the beach at Normandy to begin the liberation of France. Our beach (Juno Beach) was the first one to fall… way to go Canada. The next day the siege of the town of Caen began. The allies suffered massive casualties. One of the units tasked with taking Caen was the 30th Battery or Sportsman’s Battery. The battery was raised in Toronto by Major Conn Smythe who had taken leave from the Maple Leafs for the duration of the war. This ...

The Matthew Kostuch Story

15-year old Matthew Kostuch was sidelined by a severe concussion at the age of 10 and was forced to retire from hockey. He became a referee to stay involved in the game and help make it safer for other young players.

The Leafs found out about Matthew’s story from their partners at Hockey Canada and invited him to be an “honourary official” on March 28th as the Leafs took on the Hurricanes. Follow Matthew’s story below as he experiences stepping onto NHL ice.
