Canada To Face Finland In Playoff Round

The playoff round for the 2014 World Hockey Championship in Belarus has been set with all four games taking place on Thursday.

Canada will face Finland (1pm TSN) and the USA vs Czech Republic (9am TSN) in one half of the bracket. A potential Canada vs. USA semi-final is on the line which would see four Leafs doing battle for a spot in the Gold medal game.

Canada’s head coach Dave Tippett has not said who would start in net with both James Reimer and Ben Scrivens having strong tournaments.

The other half of the bracket features Nik Kulemin and the undefeated Russians against France (10am TSN2) and Sweden against the host Belarus (2pm TSN2).

The four winners of the quarter-final games will meet in the semi-finals on Saturday with the Gold Medal game taking place on Sunday.
