The Maple Leafs took to the ice Wednesday morning minus defenceman Carl Gunnarsson. After being hit hard early in the first period during the 6-5 overtime loss to the Sabres on Tuesday, Gunnarsson will miss the final two games of the season with a separated shoulder.

The Maple Leafs were once again without goalie James Reimer at practice Wednesday as he remained out with an upper body injury. Ben Scrivens was called up to take Reimer’s place as Jussi Rynnas was back with the Marlies a day after making his NHL debut in the 3-0 loss.

The Maple Leafs had the day off Wednesday as they flew from Chicago to Montreal where they will practice Friday at Noon.

The Maple Leafs were back on the ice early Monday morning before heading out on a three-game Western Canada road trip. The trip begins in Calgary Tuesday (9pm, Sportsnet, AM640).
